I like to explain (to non-nerds) that 1. a geek is simply an enthusiast who has mastery over a certain narrow domain, 2. a nerd is an intellectual (who may also be a geek), and 3. a dork is someone with limited social skills (who can't get a girlfriend, for instance). Often I see the words "geek" and "nerd" used interchangeably, and that distresses me. Also, I see that there are many synonyms to the word "dork" so I'm just waiting for a consensus. I read some things online about Spock and he is called this names.
