I just moved into a house and I discovered that the washing machine drain doesn't have a p trap or vent so I had a few plumbers come by and one suggested using a yoke trap inside the wall instead of a roof vent so that I could save some money on having someone waterproof the roof afterwards. Would this be an acceptable solution and up to code? I'm in California for reference.
