40 coil freeze protection pump piping diagram
I live in Texas and many of my friends and family are dealing with burst pipes due to the cold weather. I know pressure relief valves are normally used to protect against overpressure for most situations but they don’t work when the fluids inside the pipes turn solid. It seems like the main way to protect against freezing is to insulate the pipes, keep the water moving, and keep heat on, but it seems like relying on continued heating and flow is not very robust. For those unfamiliar, a water h... I'm not sure if this is necessary and I'd rather not do it if it isn't. Especially since I have to order 50' of both ODs at around $100 to 200 for each respectively via hdsupplysolutions. I have a tiny townhouse and the depth of the whole property might be 30' so 50' of the stuff is overkill. Condenser is being upgraded from R22 to 410a I acknowledge there is more pressure used for the latter.
So I'm kind of in a pickle here. I just bought a house and the gas company is coming on tuesday to start my gas service. The ac heater does not work without gas. Also, one of the things wrong with the house was the main water valve, can't turn off water to the house until that is fixed. Those were the two main things I was thinking of using to protect the house pipes from the freezing temperatures coming tonight, but no luck. I feel like I've run out of options and my pipes will inevitably b...

Hey r/hvacAdvice, we had a 5 ton variable speed Trane xv18 system installed last summer. (Phoenix desert, open plan house with great airflow, separate single stage 5 ton system handles bedrooms). All summer long we've had problems with the coil freezing. Initially it was throwing the following codes: 177.04, 184.08. At this point the installing company came out and moved the condensing unit four feet farther away from the house to let it vent fully (it was in an alcove with a soffit overhang... I have a [Compool CP3400 Pool-Spa control system](https://www.poolinspections.com/manuals/controls/compool_cp3400.pdf). My filter pump used to be 2-speed but was replaced with a single speed. During the freeze in TX last week the indoor controller showed to be running "Pool" and FRZ displayed, but the pump wasn't running. I think it was running the pump in "low speed" during freeze protection which won't do anything with a single speed pump. Until I replace the pump again some time in the future...
Coil freeze protection pump piping diagram. Hello all. So I live in Texas and due to the recent winter storm, our pool has frozen over. Before we got the bad weather, I drained the pool pump, cleaner pump, and pool filter so the above ground pipes are safe, I think. However, I did not blow out the lines or add any kind of antifreeze... we just don't get this kind of weather. What Im wondering is: can I do anything to protect the underground pipes if they have water in them? Would breaking the surface ice help or maybe opening up valves ... Hello, Our heat pump/ac system is supposedly new (replaced with the purchase of the house) but hasn't worked properly in the summer. The air filter is changed every month on the 1st. We have a 2 story plus basement, so we've been told several times not to expect a perfect balance, but we honest to God have zero air flow in the summer when the AC is running, except in the basement. The inner coil keeps freezing entirely, so clearly there's an air flow issue, which 2 company's techs agree with....
We are new to Wichita and sprinkler systems. We've had the sprinkler system blown out with air by a company but not sure what to do about the one-way valve and a couple feet of plumbing sticking out of the ground. I can only imagine there's water from the valve back to the house supply line trapped in there still due to the location of the service port on the one-way valve. Water was turned off prior to system blow out. I can imagine dropping a big blanket/sleeve-type thing over the exposed bit... Had a flood in an unoccupied unit today and the temperature in the kitchen area where the pipes froze was freezing ... yada, yada ... if you have a cabinet or cupboard where water pipes are subject to cold go to this City website to check what to do: [https://www.toronto.ca/services-payments/water-environment/your-water-pipes-meter/water-related-help-advice/prevent-or-thaw-frozen-pipes/#:\~:text=Steps%20to%20Help%20Prevent%20Frozen%20Pipes&text=Seal%20air%20leaks%20in%20your,and%20let%20th... Your house may not have adequate insulation in the walls, floors and ceilings to protect your pipes on outside walls from freezing in this week’s extreme cold. Open closets, cupboards and cabinets that have pipes in or behind them so that ambient heat from your house can keep them from freezing. A burst pipe or frozen drain is a big problem that can be prevented. Other folks can feel free to add more extreme cold weather tips of your own.
